Victory Fort Music Ministry Audition

Music Ministry Audition

VICTORY BGC

DEAR APPLICANT,

Thank you for your desire to become a part of the Music Ministry! We are blessed to have you share your time and talent so we can honor God and make disciples together especially in this challenging season.

While we make use of our talents, it is beyond this purpose why we desire to serve in the ministry. 1 Corinthians 6:20 reads “For you were bought at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which is God’s”.

We are here to glorify God. Worship is not just about the songs we sing but is really more about the life we live for Him.

This packet is designed to help you understand the audition process and prepare for it.

We hope this will help guide you and ease your jitters prior to the auditions. Remember that everything we do is by faith. We are excited for you! Thank you very much again and see you at the audition!

“For you were bought at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which is God’s”.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:20

THE AUDITION PROCESS

1) BEFORE THE AUDITION

As you sign-up, you will be handed this packet containing information about the audition and access to the songs you will need to study.

2) AT THE AUDITION

The audition will be done in two levels: (1) online and (2) onsite.

For the first step of your audition, you will need to send us a video of you singing or playing the audition song from start to finish. You can submit your videos in our facebook messenger chat at the corner lower right corner of this website.

As you prepare to make the video, please consider the following tips:

Try to make sure the area you will be shooting your video is clean, well-lit, not distracting, and quiet enough for the panelist to hear you well. Please also consider the appropriateness and neatness of your attire. While it is not necessary to have professional equipment to record your performance, it is ideal if you ensure your environment can help you ensure you are still submitting quality material.

Be sure the video is close to your face so the panelists can see you well. If you’re a musician, make sure the panelist can also see you play your instruments well. Please shoot in landscape mode.

Your video can be just you singing in acapella or playing your instrument solo. You can just sing or play along the song while listening to it with earphones or loud speakers as long as the panelists can still hear you well.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us for clarifications.

The panelists will be reviewing the videos sent and will determine who will be asked to move to the next stage—the Onsite Audition. Please wait for us to contact you regarding for the status and what will be your next steps moving forward.

THE AUDITION PROCESS

ONSITE AUDITION

The singers and musicians at onsite audition can either be done in the same or separate rooms, individually or as a group. For example, if you are auditioning for the electric guitarist position, at the discretion of the panelists, you will be asked to play the parts in solo or play with the band who can be either your fellow applicant or one of the panelists. Singers will have the same style of audition. At the discretion of the panelist, you can be asked to complete or stop the song at any point during the audition.

We will be using the same songs we asked at the online audition. It is required that the applicants have their parts MEMORIZED and not have chord, lyric sheets, or any copy of the song at the time of their audition.

AFTER THE AUDITION

After the audition, you will be assisted in the interview area. Based on the evaluation and recommendation of the panel, you will be informed if you have been accepted in the Music Ministry.

There is always a risk involved when we go through auditions. Sometimes, we are successful. Other times, things don’t happen as we hope. But regardless of the outcome, we must not let these things define us. When we look at God’s Word, it reminds us that our ultimate sense of security and worship should not be anchored in achievements or failures, but only on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

If you are not selected, this does not mean you are not gifted. The audition is but a stepping-stone in discovering where we can fully express our desire to serve God and His people in this season. You not getting in can mean that God may be calling you to serve in a different way.

If you want further explanation of our decision, you are welcome to approach the Music Ministry leaders or any of our pastors for more details.

We host auditions several times across the year, and everyone is welcome to re-apply at that time.

Those who get accepted will hear more from the leadership regarding their future commitment with the Music Ministry
